 Markus Purmann
Markus Purmann was a Munich clock and compass maker who was an apprentice of Ulrich Schniep from 1583 to 1588. He made mechanical clocks and a large number of sundials, including several scaphe dials. His surviving instruments, which are often signed with his initials MP, are dated between 1588 and 1616. From 1592 to 1596 he collaborated with Hans Koch in making a series of mechanical clocks equipped with sundials.
