 Miniato Pitti
Miniato Pitti was an Abbot at the monastery of Monte Oliveto near Florence. He came from a noble family and was known as a natural philosopher, cosmographer and mathematician, who was skilled in making mathematical instruments. He is mentioned several times in Giorgio Vasari's Lives of the Artists.
