The Iron Genie

Created by artist Anita Chowdry, The Iron Genie is inspired by the harmonograph, a 19th-century drawing device that created beautiful curves by combining the motions of pendulums. The installation is on show in the Top Gallery and is usually demonstrated daily Tuesday to Friday, initially between 1.30pm and 4.30pm (but please check the Events page for up-to-date timings).

Anita will also give a 30-minute talk about the piece at 3pm on Saturday 19 July, Saturday 16 August, and Saturday 20 September. Read more about The Iron Genie on our blog.
