Text:
The Type V24 Radio Valve was as probably designed in 1917, and was produced from 1918 until the late 1930s. It was designated V24 as it was originally designed to operate at a High Tension electricity supply of 24 Volts, then the standard battery in use in the British military forces. Its primary use was as a Radio Frequency (R.F.) amplifier, but was prone to instability in this use. Hence, tuned circuits were avoided between stages and the gain per stage was kept low.
