The 6N7G was a very popular and useful commercial general purpose double triode and was identical to the NR73 Navy Receiving valve. The 6N7 class was not as general purpose as claimed as it had powerful heaters, a common cathode, and wass designed to operate in push-pull Class B2 with zero grid bias. It was specifically an audio power valve capable of 10W per pair.
