Text:

The Third Radiotelegraphic Conference was held in London in June 1912, to approve important regulations that would secure uniformity of practice in radiotelegraphic services. This was an important conference and was attended by delegates from over 40 countries. Its importance had been particularly emphasised by the Titanic disaster only two months previously. On 24 June, delegates were given a tour of the Marconi works at Chelmsford and were provided with dinner at the Savoy, where the male guests were presented with a silver table lighter and the female guests with a silver pocket scent bottle.
