The Brownie Crystal Receiver No 2 set was manufactured by the Brownie Wireless Co. of Great Britain Ltd and was available from September 1925. It could be used to tune to the new BBC medium wave transmitters that rapidly appeared around the country following the launch of 2LO the London station in November 1922. In 1925, the number of receiving licenses granted in England nearly doubled in part because of the availability of little receivers like this Brownie set.
