Astrolabe Catalogue

Date late 15th century
Place Italy
Material Brass
Acquisition Presented by Lewis Evans in 1924
Accession 1924-0/2070

Evans bought it from Percy Webster, his main London dealer, in 1910. Although the astrolabe appears to be Italian (it is inscribed in a combination of Latin and Italian), the latitude it has been made for is appropriate to North Africa or Baghdad.
