Notes:

A self-restoring coherer used by Marconi for the first transatlantic wireless signals in December 1901. With glass tube mounted in ebonite and clamped between brass fittings, sitting on a shaped ebonite base with lacquered brass terminals. With globule of mercury retained between two iron or carbon rods in glass rod.
