This is an experimental form of a condenser'>Billi Condenser. The first practical adjustable Billi condenser was brought into use in 1903 or early 1904. Variable Condensers used prior to this had no extension handles, and were therefore awkward to adjust in that the capacity was varied immediately the hand was removed. The introduction however of the long extension handle enabled sharp tuning to be employed in the receiving instrument.
