This brass disc was used at the Macroni Wireless Station at the Haven Hotel near Poole in 1906 for experiments on musical spark transmission. The steel disc in the actual rotary spark discharger was the first to be installed for commercial sparks with a musical note, used at Poldhu in 1907.
