Notes:
Marconi-Osram Dull Emitter Receiving (DER) Battery Triode Radio Valve Type DE6, dating from 1925, and suited to the amplification of audio, driven by loud speakers. Construction is classic horizontal co-axial configuration, with a single strand filament at the centre of a bright anode cylinder. The grid is a fine wire helix that stands on and above the support rod, which is fixed at both ends. In glass balloon envelope, with polished bakelite base and four brass? base pins. Glass surface partially silvered and damaged, probably from use. BBC logo ("ENTIRELY BRITISH MANUFACTURE") was used between September 1924 and 1927 and gives a good indication of the date of origin.
