Notes:

Builder's model of the aerial mast, designed by C. S. Frankiln of Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Co. Ltd., for the transmission of television from Alexandra Palace in 1936, with octagonal lattice-work tower of angle-section steel, ladders and wooden outriggers supporting the triple wires with insulators.

Mast carries two aerial systems: the upper is for vision signals (6.67 meters) and the lower for sound (7.23 meters). Radiating members of each aerial system are supposed at the extremity of the outriggers, with reflectors one quarter of a wavelength behind each radiator to ensure the radiation of a uniform signal in all directions, and to minimise absorptions and consequent losses by the structure if the mast.
