Raytheon Radio Tube (or Valve) Type 6H6G, in red, white and blue printed cardboard carton. Glass valve with black plastic? base, eight steel base pins and one central black plastic? base pin. One steel pin missing. Upper section of tube silvered during manufacturing process.

The 6H6 in the classic glass envelope was physically the largest form of a very useful double diode. Unlike the metal version with pressed glass foot and miniature construction, this had the old pinch construction and long connecting leads within the envelope. Also it was not screened. The metal 6H6 could work into the VHF region - the glass version could not as the capacitances were too great.
