We are pleased to offer all visitors access to free public Wi-Fi, through the new Super Connected Oxford initiative.

The new Wi-Fi service is now available throughout the Oxford University Museums via a managed service provided by WiFi SPARK. As well as being a convenient service to the more than 2 million visitors who come to the museums each year, Wi-Fi enables the museums to enhance their offer, providing additional digital content, learning resources and information about the collections.

This service was enabled by the Super Connected Oxford initiative, led by Oxford City Council and funded by the Department of Culture Media and Sport and the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership. The City Council has installed free Wi-Fi hotspots in 40 public buildings across the city as part of this initiative, including in the four university museums, which collectively welcome more than 2 million visitors each year.

Councillor Bob Price, Leader of Oxford City Council, said: “Wi-Fi access is a crucial element in providing information and guidance to visitors, as well as facilitating business and social communications. We have delivered on that commitment as this Wi-Fi in the main public buildings, museums and galleries demonstrates.”
