Calotype 7

Portrait of the painter William Henry Hunt (1790-1864), by Nicolaas Henneman (1813-1898), late 1840s or early 1850s.

Henneman was Talbot's protégé and had a calotype portrait studio in London from 1847 to 1855.

The photograph has a faint grid of pencil lines drawn over the head, betraying its use as a sketch, probably for a self-portrait.
