In the spandrels and in the border there is geometrical decoration and an inscription from Ovid's Fasti. The decoration is ample and consists of geometrical motifs on the borders, snails and flowers and arabesques. At the centre of the inner face of the upper leaf there is a gilt brass plate decorated with a wind rose. On the sides of the pin gnomon dial in the lower leaf, two vases with flowers and arabesques in the spandrels complete the rich decoration.
