Equinoctial Dial

Brass; 51 mm in diameter

This very simple dial consists of a circular brass box containing a compass, and its lid, on top of which is a nocturnal.

The folding hour ring was set for the latitude by placing the point of the gnomon in a depression on a cross bar over the compass.
