Brass; 370 mm in radius

This quadrant is finely engraved with a number of scales. One face bears a wind rose, a zodiacal calendar and a shadow square. On the back of the instrument are hour lines, the trajectory of the diurnal arc of the sun, a zodiac strip and a scale of degrees.

The instrument originates from the Dudley bequest.
