Astrolabe

Copper; 385 mm in diameter

This astrolabe is made up of a copper disk, on which the lines and indications relating to just one latitude are engraved.

It belonged to the legacy of the scientist Vincenzo Viviani. From the manner in which the instrument is constructed, it appears to have been made in the German lands.
