Brief Description: This "small pocket microscope" (only 3" in length when closed) was to be carried in the breast pocket, in a mahogany box. Includes Nicol prism, polarizer and analyser; three eyepieces, 4 objectives with caps, a white ivory disc and a mirror in a U-shaped frame.
Primary Inscriptions: "SWIFT & SON LONDON. W.C." Cans and objectives also signed.
Provenance: Presented by Ernest Keevil, March 1922. Designed by G TBrown (1827-1906), later Sir George, Prof. of Physiology, Royal Veterinary College, London, for Sir Frank Crisp FRMS.
