Brief Description: | Square base with four bun feet; inset central compass (with divided circle graduated to 180 rather than 360 and replacement needle); sprung folding plumb level (plumb bob and line missing) and gnomon support; diagonally divided hour scale; volvelle for hour conversions. Underside of plate has a zodiac-calendar scale and scales of sunrise and sunset throughout the year. |
