Brief Description: Oil painting on canvas depicting an alchemist working in his studio in the foreground with a group of other people possibly assistants in the background. The painting is held in a gilt frame with 6 white metal nails and nine wooden keys. The stretcher has a cross bar. Possibly the original hook fixings at the back and copper alloy hanging wire.
Provenance: Bequeathed by G. H. Gabb in 1948/9.
