Brief Description: The instrument is carried by trunnions on two posts that stand on a weighted flat foot. The circular stage has a mechanical stage plate with spring clips to secure specimens. Two pillars are set in line behind the stage. Both hold limbs with rack and pinion coarse focusing and screw adjusted fine focus. One pillar carries a mount for an analyser. The pillar behind it carries a body tube with cell on a hinge fitted near its lower end. A mount for a substage assembly is attached to the underside of the stage and a plano-concave mirror is set on a post below it.
