Monument to mathematics?

It is not clear whether we should call this alabaster sculpture, illustrating the orders of architecture and the regular polyhedra, a monument or a model. Was it a celebration of mathematics or did it have a role in teaching? It was presented to the Bodleian Library in 1620 by Sir Clement Edmonds, Fellow of All Souls.
