Brief Description: Daguerreotype portrait of a family, consisting of parents seated nearly full length, facing front, and two boys standing nearly full length either side, each resting an arm on the parent's shoulder. Plain backdrop. No tinting. Enclosed and cased.

Decoratively moulded papier mâché case covered in thin dark brown leather with some gold tooling around borders. Decorated red velvet internal pad. Pinchbeck frame and semi-plain mat. Two hook clasps.

The photograph is mounted horizontally in a vertical format case.
