Primary Inscriptions: Pencil note on verso [in Gunther's hand]: Noble says he was Philomath or lover of mathematics & [Hypotheses]. He published some work upon that science Noble 3. 361 Will'm Smith a celebrated fortune teller and famed for his skill in discovering the [unclear] - but in consseqience of his offering a reward for the recovery of a favourite dog the imposition was found out and he obliged to shift his [unclear] almost at the peril of his life.
