Brief Description: Compass needle and glass missing. The upper leaf has three holes, punched on the reverse for the latitudes 42, 45 and 48. Compass bowl directions in French and (abbreviated) Latin.
Primary Inscriptions: Maker's mark punched on base: VA or AV surmounted by crown.
Provenance: Presented by Lewis Evans Bought by Lewis Evans at the sale of the collection of M. Roussel, Paris, 1911.
