Brief Description: An optical compendium comprising a drum microscope with spring clips to hold specimens, a plane substage mirror; a screw-barrel type specimen holder for a solar microscope, mounted on a copper alloy cylinder; and a telescope with two draw tubes and a mahogany body, painted gold. The optical instruments are housed in a hinged mahogany case with a key mechanism and two swing clip fastenings. Inside the case are wooden supports for the instruments, some of which are lined with green fabric. There are also three projection lenses to fit the screw-barrel and two objective lenses for the drum microscope, with a third objective lens.
