Brief Description: Polished mahogany case with lid and removable front with two R5V valves (separately inventoried), sliding resistance voltage regulator, two Marconiphone plug-in tuning units (range blocks) for 300-690 and 1300-1700 meters, screw-controlled fine blade tuning, and plug-in regenerator unit Marconiphone Type A for 1500-2100 metres. Fittings of nickel-plated copper alloy.
Primary Inscriptions: Signed: "MARCONIPHONE V2A LONG RANGE MODEL"; BBC logo "Approved by Post Master General" , and "G.P.O. REG. No. 0175". Ivorine plaque in receiver: "MARCONIPHONE V2.A/ TYPE R.B.!.B. Long Range Model./ INST. No. W/E 2428".
