Brief Description: Giant Glass Radio Valve, with dense polymer-type material base, and two brass base pins. Base has numerous circular holes and protruding lower section with base pins. Large glass bulb reveals interior with plastic? connections, nickel-plated frame and eight spring-type connections. Very unusual type of valve, designed for large values of electricity and power.
Primary Inscriptions: "GP 50 / MADE IN / 10 / G.E.C. / 240V 10000W / ENGLAND / FOR 3200K FILM" printed on upper surface of exterior surface of bulb.
Provenance: Presented by the Marconi Corporation in 2004.
