Brief Description: Stereoscopic transparency (albumen on glass process), enclosed in its own right in the standard form (black paper edging), and placed in a black wooden slider or frame with a swivelling brass retaining clasp. Interior of a hall or gallery in the Vatican Museum; good stereoscopic effect.

Associated with 8 wood-framed lantern slides which belonged to Arthur Thomson, together in a card box.
Primary Inscriptions: Intrinsic printed caption: '310 Galerie des Candélabres, Musée du Vatican, Rome.'.
Provenance: Probably transferred from the Pitt Rivers Museum. Belonged latterly to Beatrice Blackwood, who was given them by Professor Arthur Thomson. They may have belonged to his father, John Thomson RN.
