Brief Description: Mater; rete for 27 stars, 3 plates; cross-shaped alidade; horse. One of the star-pointers is broken. The inscriptions are roughly engraved.Two of the arms of the alidade are curved, one of the sighting-vanes is missing.
Primary Inscriptions: "The making of this astrolabe was completed by the servant, yearning for God the forgiving, Shams ad-din Muhammad Saffar, in the year nine hundred and eleven", engraved on the back.
