Brief Description: Navigator's lattice frame sextant with an index and horizon mirror and a set of shades for each. There is a collar with a screw thread inside which the telescope eyepiece and body tube, or the dark tube can be screwed into. At the base of the sextant there is a silver scale which a vernier and clamp is attached to, the clamp is adjusted by a tangent screw. Held above the scale is a magnifier and window through which the scale can be read more accurately. On the back there is a wooden handle attached to the lattice. This is stored in the wooden fitted case lined with green felt and has slots in the side for the telescope, the dark tube and the metal pin for adjusting sections of the sextant. There are wooden fittings on the base and the inside of the lid for securing the sextant.
