Brief Description: Compound microscope with a folding tripod which has a short threaded cylindrical stand. The cylindrical body tube has a threaded nose for objectives, and a removable eyepiece which screws into the body tube. There is a stage mounted on a pillar which has a square cross-section; the height of the stage can be adjusted by a mill-edged screw on the side of the pillar. The microscope is housed in a hinged mahogany case with two swing clasp fastenings and a lock mechanism. Inside, the box has wooden supports lined with green baize. The case also contains: a set of three Lieberkühn; a fishplate with a green ribbon; an empty cylindrical box, potentially used for rouge; a double-ended copper alloy talc box; stage forceps with an ivory disc; a super stage condenser with a collar on an cylindrical pillar; a circular live box; 12 wooden sliders, one set of 6 with specimens adhered to paper on tray-like sliders, the other set of 6 with specimens between talc; a set of five glass sliders with specimens; a glass dipping tube; an eyepiece cover; and a set of 6 objectives.
