Brief Description: A cylindrical pillar rises from a flat tripod base with cork feet. An inner pillar telescopes vertically and is held in place by a tightening collar, set on the outer pillar. The cylindrical limb is mounted on a compass joint. A plano-concave mirror is held by a sliding sleeve at the lower end and the mechanical, spring stage is attached by a bracket at the top. A rack and pinion extends a bar, with a triangular cross section, from within the limb. The arm at the top of the bar has two collars to take a simple lens as well as the compound body that is fitted.
