Brief Description: Presumably used by Thomas Hornsby, and later used for observations 1828-38. Simple wooden backboard with central barometer glass tube held by brackets. Ivory panel and 'float' under a small glass dome. Adjustment screw at base with painted wood cover over the mercury reservoir bulb. Top section has silvered copper alloy scale panel with small slider.
