Brief Description: | English? spirit level, with with velvet-lined fish-skin covered case. Brass and glass level, filled with pink fluid; Unsigned and undated; c.1700 The base-plate rests on two bosses at one end, and on the point of a levelling-screw at the other. A pointer is attached to the screw and moves over a graduated scale. Two similar triangles are engraved on the base plate at the side of the level. The sides of one triangle are marked 8 and 150, and are exactly 1/3rd the length of the other sides, marked 24 and 450. | ||||||||||
