Brief Description: Medal Institute Of Radio Engineers: gold medal presented to Marconi in 1922 in recognition of distinguished service in radio communication in 1920. Face of medal is decorated with two naked forms, one male and one female in art deco style, with thunder bolts flashing between their fingers, depicting electrical contact. This image is signed Sanford '17. Reverse side has inscription to Marconi, referring to him as William Marconi.
Primary Inscriptions: "INSTITUTE OF / RADIO ENGINEERS / SANFORD '17" on obverse. "TO / WILLIAM MARCONI / IN RECOGNITION / OF DISTINGUISHED / SERVICE IN / RADIO / COMMUNICATION / 1920" on reverse.
