Brief Description: Large Solar Microscope with Accessories and Container. The back plate has two holes for shutter screws and two winged screws adjust the position of the rectangular mirror on the rear of the plate. The body tube screws into the centre of the plate. A thread on the end of the body takes a mahogany box or a copper alloy tube with a smaller copper alloy box, for displaying opaque specimens. Both of these have copper alloy holders for sliders. The tube also takes a rack barrel assembly. A projection lens screws into the end of the barrel and a slide with six objective lenses pushes into a slot behind it. A rack and pinion moves the barrel over an inner cylinder and a stage consisting of two disks held together by a steel spring. There is also a dovetail slot behind the stage to hold a condensing lens in a copper alloy slide. There are three condensing lenses as well as two shutter screws, stage forceps and a cylinder containing three pins on a spring to secure specimens.
