Painted and gilded wood, brass, and ivory; the paper gores of the globe and the paper date-scale were printed from engraved plates. The globe is signed, 'A PARIS, chez le Sr. Fortin rue de la Harpe 1773'.

This instrument demonstrates the relative motions of the Sun, the Earth and the Moon.

Acquired in 1952 for the Lewis Evans Collection
