Wood, brass and ivory; the paper scale and the gores of the globe were printed from engraved plates, coloured by hand and lacquered; inscribed 'Published 1st July 1816, by I. & W. Newton 66 Chancery Lane, LONDON'; Signed 'Cary London'. This instrument shows the planets as far as Uranus (Mercury and Venus are missing) and demonstrates, by means of wheelwork, the motions of the Earth and Moon relative to each other and to the Sun.
