Wood, brass, bone, etc.; paper date-scale and star-map, and the gores of the globe, printed from engraved plates, coloured by hand and lacquered. Inscribed, 'Sold by J. Abraham Optician &c. BATH.'; not dated.
This instrument shows Mercury, Venus, the Sun, the Earth and the Moon, and by means of wheel work demonstrates the motions of the Earth and Moon relative to each other and to the Sun.
A John Abraham, optician, worked in Cheltenham, c.1830 and may be identical with the present maker.
