Narratives

A globe for instruction and calculation

Unlike most globes, this unusual example cannot be classified as either terrestrial or celestial: it has no 'content' in the normal manner of continents or stars, but has projected lines, such as the tropics, the ecliptic, the equator, and so on. It could be used for a variety of calculations, including transposing between different systems of co-ordinates.
