Brass and ivory; inlaid mahogany stand; paper scale and the gores of the globe of the Earth printed from engraved plates, coloured by hand, and lacquered. Not signed or dated.

This instrument shows the planets as far as Uranus, and demonstrates, by means of wheelwork, the motions of the Earth and Moon relative to each other and to the Sun. Uranus is shown with the six satellites which Sir William Herschel believed he had detected.
