Brass and ivory. Signed, 'Gioi: Savoj Firenze 1779'. This instrument shows the planets as far as Saturn, and demonstrates by means of wheel-work the motions of the Earth and Moon relative to each other and to the Sun.
The arms supporting the planets are hinged so that they may be folded for packing and transporting the instrument. On the plate is a zodiacal calendar.
