Mahogany, brass, etc., with inlaid box-wood scale. Signed, "E* NAIRNE* LONDON"; undated.
Instead of there being a vernier on the slider, the slider moves over a scale calibrated with transversals for reading minutes of arc, as in Hadley's original quadrant.
