German STRING-GNOMON INCLINING DIAL

Gilt brass, brass and wood. Signed, "I . CHRIST KELLER . LINZI"; undated.
The dial is mounted on gimbals and may be adjusted for use in any latitude from 45° to 55°, by means of a sliding counterpoise. The compass is mounted on pivots and therefore remains vertical whatever the angle of the dial.
The wooden stand is modern.
