2013-7 2000 LENT by the Ashmolean Museum
Material excavated in 1999 from the back yard of the Old Ashmolean Building during preparation for construction of the special exhibitions gallery, chiefly or entirely chemical laboratory vessels & animal & human bones, 17th-18th century. Excavation was conducted by Thames Valley Archaeological Services, who initially lent items for the temporary exhibition 'Solomon's House' in September 2000; all excavated material belongs to the Ashmolean Museum, with whom the loan of items for permanent display was subsequently formalised.
