Movable parts
Gunther in ESO I, 152 remarks that "all the movable parts excepting a couple of thumb-screws were missing when Mr Stevenson first handed me the instrument for examination".
In ESO, II, p. 388 he notes the same Mr Stevenson of St John's "had just found a brass rule which may have been used with Oughtred's instrument", and the description agrees with the rule still on the instrument.
